yes- the sound is pretty lo fi overall , but it makes a change from the
sometime
*too* polished sound of bukem and co , the phrase 'another bukem style
track'
is now a recognized pigeon hole for 80% of the drum n bass that passes
through
here.
think the only people doin anything interesting in drum n bass spectrum
are the people who are shredding the rule books - squarepusher, wafta ,
boymerang , plug , woob, photek, source direct - along with the jump up
crew of hype , dillinja , dj die and co - bukems sound and its many
imitators seem to have run into a dead end and out of steam with no way
back( to quote Adonis!).
there is also a re issue of "voodoo ray'' titled "curse of voodoo ray" due
for release
anytime with mixes by lionrock amongst others.
gerry ancedote - remember seeing gcg getting booed off the stage when he
supported new order on the technique tour, circa 1989 - (the crowd in
glasgow singing some not very pc football songs about his female
vocalist!!.)
