Hi, Sorry for one of those requests posts, but I remember somebody talking about a tv series called "Dancing In The Streets" and one of it's episodes being on hip-hop, techno, etc.. What I would like to know is this true, and if so what episode number is it, thanks?? Sorry if I got the wrong list.. OnNow: Dancing in the Streets - episode 2 A Rock N Roll History - talking about the emergence of producers who had control of their work and who performed it instead of the traditional (up until that point) record company. ObIDM: What are other people on this list opinions on Justin Robertson's JDJ 2cd "CScape" mix cd?? IMHO it's a choice selection of prime cuts from a diverse cross-section of techno genre. Mixing is interesting but I give him props for what he had tried to represent. Can any one recommend any other JDJ cd's besides the Coldcut one? Regards, John

This is in fact true, the good ol' BBC in their infinite wisdom commissioned this serious historical overview (complete with suitably serious monotonous reverential narrative and footage of artistes that was so rare it was probably receiving its first outing...James brown the godfather of techno!) of the landmarks in the evolution of that organism that we celebrate here and to which we gladly donate more $$$ than we can ever dream of actually owning. The series navigated a sometimes lateral course through the development of all the important genres bring us (almost) up to the present day, the last episode(number?....doh, I lost count, sorry) did indeed do a take on hip-hop-rap-techno-dance thang doing Planet Rock through NWA and ending up at....The Orb....Excellent! it had some nice montage, probably from the patterns an textures video(I say probably 'cos I never got my hands on it) So respect to Don Letts for that episode; did anyone notice if he produced the others? If it comes to a channel near you, stay with it the payback's worth it. oh yeah, also available on video Cheers Steve ps it stops a bit short of Warp and Rephlex
