Cheap Knob Gags - Volume 3 (CKG 3) UK
Hard minimal percussive techno on A with flanging
and Carl Craig style pitch bending , deep developing
journey on flip side , complete with echoed bongos!
Primitive Urges - Volume One (Primative Urges 1) UK
4 tracker from RAC and Swag producer ,four deep
workouts that fall into that zone where house and techno
sit side by side , emotive and soulful and most importantly
godamn funky trax , with a touch of both Detroit and Chi -Town.
Future Beat Alliance - Electric Blues (Void 002) UK
Very abstract yet smooth electronica , reminds us of
As - One,Black Dog, Stasis , lo - fi phuture funk with
heaps of emotion.
Daniel Ibbotson - "Souped Up" (Clear 414) UK
Debut release from Glasgow boy who has tracks on up and coming
Language compilation and A.R.T./Clear joint album.Stunning mish
mash of jazz influenced electronic muzak. Street date 26/8/96
Edge of Motion - Ad Hoc (100% Pure) DUTCH
2 x 12" , but only 1 track aside , first in series of mixes from
fothecoming Edge of Motion LP , artists featured on this release
are Speedy J , Stefan Robbers , Delta and Sterac , all tracks
use a basic electro foundation , but fly off at diverse tangents.
Speedy J's mix is like a Chemical Brothers groove turned inside
out , whilst Robbers injects a dub bassline , sinsiter mechanical
breathing and twittering analouge synths.
Sterac - Secret Life of Machines Remix Part 1 (100%Pure) DUTCH
With mixes from Carl Craig and Mark Broom lined up in future , this is
going to be an interesting series , the 2 mixes on this 12 come from
Jamez (Touche) and Sensurreal. Jamez takes us on a thumping deep
techno/house journey with shades of Basic Channel that really kicks
in about 3/4 way through , the "Sensurreal" boys offer a delicate slice
of liquid cooled electronica , with abstract beats and smooth melodies.
Baby Mammoth - "10,000 Years under the Streets" (Pork035) UK
First in a series of 3 new album releases from Pork , and for a
change it's not produced by Steve Cobby - more onna abstract hip
hop downtempo jazzy beat vibe but stamped with that unique
Pork flavour. Next up is an album from the Bullitnuts. Street Date 27/8/96

Creating a bit of a stir these are! , been told Mike Ink is behind these 2
grooving pieces of minimal funky techno , imagine Robert Hood meets
King Tubby and you'll be half way there! , big sound system music
which hits you right where it counts.
Zino - Future Frontier (FF 001) BELGIUM
All out sonic attack from the guy behind the best Reload releases,
speaker shredding techno - for all you Jeff Mills disciples out there.
Last Disco Superstars - Last Disco Superstars (Grow 005) AUSTRIAN
From the label that brought you releases by the Memory Foundation ,
8 tracks of mutant warped disco , DJ Sneak with a healthy dose
of humour and a rocket up the backside!!
Dan Morgan - The Sum Of One (Geometric) USA
Latest on Damon Wild's Synewave offshoot , Harsh metallic loops
that seem to sway in an out of time with the medium paced dry
solid percusion , would sit in well with Advent, Surgeon and
Blue Spirit releases.
Skuff - The Sound Of Skuff (Surreal Sound) USA
Jake Smith (Subtropic) moonlights from Reflective with this
4 tracker of haunting electronica , the tempo's are speedy ,
but the beats are abstract.
David Moufang - Cymbelin (Warp WAP80) UK
You might know Moufang from his excursions with Pete Namlook , or
work as Deep Space Network/Move D , or his as head of the Source

Roupe - "Entelechy E.P." (Resourse 05) UK
Sampler for forthcoming album from ex GPR artist , subtle breaks and
melodies combine in a multi styled ep that can't be pinned down to one
particular sound , brings to mind the way Black Dog twisted rhythm and
sound into their own unique vision , swinging from chopped up drum'nbass
breaks to abstract hip hop beats , inlcludes mix from GPR artists Germ

Fresh from releases on both Soma (Mode 4) and Damon Wild's Synwave offshoot
Geometric(Unit 3), New Yorker Tracey Hudson turns in a 4 tracker full of da
funk! ,
3 of the cuts are speedy chi - town influenced groovers with repetitive
loops , old skool claps , searing hi - hats and butt shaking bass , whilst
""Zoop" is a deep Basic Channel styled deep houser , future collaborations
with Damon Wild and Joey Beltram are also imminent. Street Date 28/7/96

Butt and speaker shaking electro bass from Detroit , whiplash snares,
rumbling bass and future space funk grooves from Aux 88 in house
