I have to say, methinks the world would be a much better place if everything was pressed at 45...or if tt's played at 78 again and you could really slow them fuckers down. I've been buying selected 78's and using them in mixes just because the effect is so gloriously lethargic. paul.

We try to press stuff at 45, if only 'cos it's signicantly 'louder' than at 33, but an album at 45 would have to come on about 6 pieces of vinyl. I actually prefer being able to speed things up to 45 from 33. Speedy J's "De-orbit" sounds far better at 45. g.

I'd love to find a turtable with crazy pitch control but have never in my life seen one that's satisying. that would solve all said problems... paul.

1200's can be hacked upwards of +/- 10% if you're comfortable with surgery; the new Vestax decks may have similar or better potential.. eric
