No, not trippin' on the road. Getting in a vehicle (RV's RULE!) and
heading out on the road to *the* party.
Everyone knows that all roads lead to Detroit, and all roads this
weekend will lead to Sickness.......Recovery.....
Admittedly Detroit is just a little far for some people to drive, but
when the bill is Matthew Hawtin then Jeff Mills then Richie Hawtin and
the *AFTERPARTY* is Eric Haupt, John Acquaviva, Clark Warner, and
Matthew Hawtin again, well, they will come (someone has been watching
too much Field of Dreams).
But what about people who just can't make it? Well, Plus 8 has teamed up
with BeatBox (www.beatbox.com) in the US and Teleparc (www.teleparc.com)
in Japan, for a RealAudio broadcast of this event to anyone who can't
make it.
If you don't have RealAudio yet, then you should get it. Nothing could
be easier. Here are the simple steps for obtaining the RealAudio Player
so you can tune in:
- Go to
http://www.realaudio.com
- Choose the [Get RealAudio Player 2.0] link
- Answer a couple questions (like email address, kind of computer...)
- Click the [Download RealAudio 2.0 Player Now] link (easy so far)
- Wait while RealAudio downloads
- When it's done, double-click the file that just downloaded on you
computer, answer a couple questions, choose [Express Setup] and you're
done.
You may be wondering what these DJ's are like. Matthew Hawtin is the
consumate ambient DJ, his collection is from all parts of the globe, if
you're looking to hear ambient you never knew existed, then Matt's the
one. Then there's Jeff Mills, the best DJ on earth. Pounding and
uncompromising, once you hear Jeff playing, you will sell your soul to
be there. Richie Hawtin will be closing out the Sickness....... portion
of the party (Recovery will not be broadcast). If Jeff is the best,
then Richie is tied for second with Derrick May. Richie's style and
track selection have earned him a following bordering on fanatical, and
with good reason; his set will take you and your mind to places only you
can go.
It's Thursday now, the party is on Saturday, the sound arrives on Friday
from 600 miles away (only the best and biggest sound will do) and we
have to start setting up.
If you need some help or info about getting RealAudio then mail me, or
if you would like more informationg about the event then check:

Thanks, and if we don't see you there, then hopefully we'll see you hit
the RealAudio server.
