I'm going to do a one-hour radio programme on my local radio station about Richard D. James, and there are some things I need to get help with. 1. Why did he stop playing live? 2. Was he himself involved in "Classics", or was it released by R&S without his consent? 3. I don't have any of the Joyrex EP's, and I think it would be good to play something from them in the programme. If anyone can supply me with a taping of (any of) them, I'll really appreciate it. Perhaps we can make a tape swap -- I have "AB3" and both "HAB"'s for example. 4. Any biographies etc. are welcome! Thanks! +------------------------------ Johan Jaatinen ------------------------------+ | | | MU WILL RISE AGAIN | | | +------- enigmatically posting as Anika Agebjoern <AniAg@Info.LiU.se> -------+

He thinks he's the Beatles.

Both - he contracted to release four records on R&S, and then never delivered the fourth (it would have been titled 'Phlegm,' and included "Come on You Slags"). So he wasn't involved, but he contractually consented to its release years before. C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)

Most of his gear is held together with old bubble-gum, spit, and duct tape, so dragging it around to play live probably isn't such a good idea. :) ---- The Finn / VLA | DECBEE650DEE3A0C 1ED7F54D9E023CC4 <- letters & numbers! There is a bright spot though. Since Aphex no longer tours, I figured it would appropriate to form an Aphex "tribute" band. As soon as I get my beard grown, I'm going start doing shows while crouched behind equipment crates. I've been trying to find a bald teenager to flail in front of me, but haven't had any luck yet. The best I can come up with is my girlfriend's dog, which is similarly spastic. I also haven't settled on a name. Its a toss-up between "Caustic Pac Man" and "Aphex Triplet."
