Before anyone asks, the samples in "Edgar Allan" on 'Music for Adverts' are from Roger Corman's 1961 version of 'The Pit and the Pendulum,' starring Vincent Price. Love the title, BTW - combines an Eno homage with a swipe at people like Aphex and Biosphere selling their music to the highest corporate bidder... C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)

In a major attempt to start a heated debate, I'd have to interject on one thing: music is a commercial thing, and thus musicians sell to the highest bidder even before commercials are made. Now, both the Aphex commercial for Pirelli tires, and Biosphere's Levis Jeans commercial were absolutely brilliant works of art. Like the respective artist's music, the commercials did more than simply sell a product, they were enjoyable to watch, and spoke well for the artists. Now if it had been artless commercial schlock, you'd have something to argue about...but you do remember the levis commercial right? What a great spot.
