Actually, whenever I heard that Goa DJ's couldn't spin on vinyl because the records would "melt" together, I thought it meant all the psychedlic swirly sounds would overlap each other, causing a "melting" of music that is unpleasant to the ears. I figured this was true since most Goa I've heard doesn't have any stops and starts to the psychedelic strings and synths; they just keep going on and on. I could be very wrong, though.

Why yes, in my part of the world, we refer to this phenomena as "trainwrecking". The solution? a) practice b) skill c) less faux-hippie attitude Cid.

Ye ha!!!! somebody else who uses that much neglected phrase, but we say "train - crash" for a clash of beats in a mix. It is true that Goa is spun on DAT because the vinyl warps, why do ya think all Jamican pressings are so thick! With Goa it's not particularly the music I object to , although it is not to my personal taste ( please let's not get into this "my music's better than yours/his/her's/it's/" argument ), it's the quasi- religious/spritual mumbo jumbo baggage that goes with it! ghetto defendant@4th World Base Camp http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/4thworld --------------------- Forwarded message: From: cid@u.washington.edu (C.
