* Jimi Tenor is going to studio with Brandi Ifgray of the
80's Finnish cult band Shadowplay, who used to combine
in an original way punk, new wave and jazz in their music.
The result will probably be a new record for Sahko/Puu,
alongside the new Jimi Tenor album to Warp (is it coming
this year after all, g3?). On this week's Sunday Jimi will
perform in Helsinki with the Finnish lounge poppers Super,
with Bob Stanley of St. Etienne DJing...
* The new Aural Expansion album is 2/3 ready, says Jouni
Alkio, Mr. Aural himself.
* The new Panasonic four-track EP "Osasto" (translates as
'ward' or 'department') is out on Blast First. A review
coming soon. Every 'spotter must also have Mika Vainio's
"Keimola" (the legendary car race track in Finland) EP,
recorded as Kentolevi (Cheap Records) already in their
collections...
* Some new Sahko images on pHinnWeb
(
http://www.uta.fi/~trerra/sahko.html), plus a couple of
interviews from Panasonic, Mono Junk, Jimi Tenor and Aural
Expansion in the "Scrapbook" section, with a hilarious Tommi
Gronlund/Jimi Tenor image (IMO) also included
(
http://www.uta.fi/~trerra/scrapbook.html).
* Finally, some new 12":s from Jori Hulkkonen of Lumi Records fame
("Selkasaari Tracks Episode One, F Communications), Marko Laine of
Mind Records ("Shuffled", Djax-Up Beats), and the mysterious Ari-Pekka..
