Your absolutely right. Most Americans seem to think that if there aren't
any guitars or vocals that it sucks. I dj at a club and it seems to bother
a lot of people if there aren't any vocals. I personally think that is a
major plus to the songs. Top 40 and hard rock has reigned so long in the
US, it will take a while before the mainstream can open up to IDM type
music. One thing that disgusts me, is when some will come up to me and say
"hey I'm from Detroit can you play something for me, ... uh what about
some rock n roll like Lita Ford or Aerosmith" (this has happened to me
twice). I would hope that some one from Detroit would request some Carl
Craig or Claude Young or something like that. Mtv has rotted the minds of
the mainstream public.
