Hi,
I dunno about this subject being embarrasing (I think it's lotta fun..:)
Well, Leftfield, Chemical Brothers and Orbital all did music to the
Playstation game "Wipeout". Almost only previous unreleased tracks..
And Bomb the Bass did music for the Bitmap Brothers game "Xenon 2 - the
Megablast". I'm sure there were quite many more, but I don't remember it
right now.. But, anyway, old Nintendo 8-bit music really rocks! Like the
blues song in "ice Climber"..
And to that equpiment subject..
I'm 18 years old and my (musical) partner is 22.. We both comes from
workingclass families. We don't steal. we don't cheat, we don't buy devices
for 5$..
Still, we have got among other things, A Korg MS-20, Korg Monopoly,
Sh-101, EPS sampler x 2, CZ-101 x 2, about 5 different effects, korg poly
800, roland jx8p, mac w/ cubase, 16tr mixer, 8tr mixer, and other things..
And we haven't made our money with top-of-the-pop hits or anything,
EVERYONE could get some really good stuff by work or anything..
It's just up to your priorities.. And by the way, if you can't make music
with bad equip..(I started with a roland D-20 only [it sucks.]) I don't
think that you will succed better with state-of-the-art stuff.. Like
someone said, It's not about the equpiment, It's about the engineer..
