The same mix was released on the recent Lionrock 12" (sorry, can't remember its name) which also had a Jeff Mills remix on it, so I suppose the Dust/Chem Bros mix is not so rare anymore. But the Justin Robertson's mix tape for Select is OK, though the guy himself is a tad overrated (IMHO). e k k u i r r a t i o aka e r k k i r a u t i o pHinnWeb

The single is "Straight at yer head". I just picked up the CD at the weekend for a mere 10p. It was boring my tits off until the Mills mix came on - he's actually made this mix sound a bit like 2 or more tracks being worked together as per his Tokyo mix CD. Even so the "packet of P" sample starts to grate after a while. On the basis of this disc and the free 7" that came with a recent(ish) Jockey Slut, I have to agree with the "overrated" verdict, at least on musical output. I seem to recall that the Select mixtape was pretty good. I see that his new mix CD gets top marks in a Muzik review too. um, while were on this subject, I might mention that if anyone has a copy of the Dust Bros. remix of the group REPUBLICA, track "Out of this World", I would be interested in trade/sell negotiations. Thanx!! if anyone here doesn't like "Altered States", they should be shot. Ron Trent is the bomb!!!!!

I see that his new mix CD gets top marks in a Muzik review too. I think this is the old Muzik syndrome , pats on the back for the brits , everybody wanked over Dave Clarke's album and that was a bag of shit! , sold like a bag of shit too come to think of it , that's what signing to deconstruction does for yer Dave!! , as Adonis said "No way Back" , Justin Robertson is the same , the geezer is into some decent music and has been around talanted people , but it's all just sterile reproduction. sonic assassin@4thworld http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/4thworld

Alright Goddammit, stop this madness. I think the Dave Clarke album is fucking brilliant. And the same with Lionrock. No, I'm not a fan of DeConstruction, but these artists are actually giving the label a little bit of stature. I do have to agree with you about Muzik giving a pat on the back to the brits. Except the Advent. When their new one comes out, will you hate it too because it will be loved up in Muzik and won't sell well?????? I for one am a big fan of the Advent, D. Clarke, AND Lionrock. This album("Instinct....") does more than most. Take the diversity of tracks such as "Snapshot on Pollard St.", and "Number Nine" (I think that's what It's called, but I don't have the album handy right now). The styles that Lionrock use are many; as with D. Clarke. Who would've expected "No One's Driving" in a million years?? "Archive one" is a more extreme example of being stylistically prolific; but what tracks are not to be liked? (Ok, a few of the disco-esque tracks I could do without. I don't think Glenn Underground is the shit either). My point is that these albums contain excellent tunes. And I know that's subjective, but I feel that "Wisdom to the Wise", "Thunder", and "No One's Driving" are above par, and my booty tells me the same when I'm out punting to em'. IMHO, as always. If you prefer more "Underground" status for your bag, check out Tim Taylor/Dan Zamani a.k.a Pump Panel a.k.a Planet of Drums. These artists create tracks that are just as good as D. Clarke etc,. but will appeal to the people who cannot stand to be "Overground", or like something on a major. Excellent toons exist by all artists mentioned in this post!! if anyone here doesn't like "Altered States", they should be shot. Ron Trent is the bomb!!!!!
