I saw this and thought some IDMers might be interested in this.
Alot of people compared Aphex Twin's - Selected Ambient Works 2 to Brian
Eno's - On Land. (I am not making that comparison). I haven't heard
anyone mention Eno, so I don't know if anyone is interested in him or not.
Brian Eno in Conference on CompuServe on 4 July at 8pm BST
Now fondly referred to in the British music press as
'Professor Eno' Brian Eno's public career started as Roxy Music's
synthesizer star in the early 70s. Eno's commitment to rock music
- as an artist, creator, collaborator and producer - has grown since
then into a unique career. On 4 July at 8pm BST (3pm EST), he will
be in conference on CompuServe, live from his recording studios in
London.
Eno's pioneering approach in both art and recording has made him one
of rock's most sought after producers. On his extensive CV you will
find his work with U2, where he co-produced 'Achtung Baby' amongst
others. He also conceived the idea of and created videos for their
'Zoo TV Tour' (1992).
His own solo albums have each been an inspiration to fans for decades.
His most recent work, 'Generative Music 1' (with Sseyo Koan Software)
is a series of 12 self-generating compositions. Each time you listen
to it, it's different, allowing the program itself to improvise
within set parameters.
Come along on 4 July and GO CONVENTION to hear Eno talking about his
life and his music. Take your seat and have your questions ready
at 8pm BST (3pm EST).
