Just got back from a few hours of listening to new releases. We hardly hear mention of the following two, so I thought I would offer my suggestions to the list: First, I know we do not talk about FAX releases much here, but the new REDEYE is incredible. Sounds a bit like FSOL, but not so blurpy sounding. Lots of great spacey sounds but with structures of hip hop tunes on some of the tracks. It is a well deserved listen. Second, ATOM HEART'S _MONO TM_. It AH's version of electro. Cover art even has the graffiti wall to go with it. First track, _Welcome to Planet Knowledge_ is full of 808 beats, old scholl scratches, and has a wonderful sample saying "welcome to planet knowledge" which brings back memories of Newcleus's _Jam On It_ Can you say "wikki wikki wikki?" I was disappointed with KM20 (deep Space Network live), but I loved seeing the SCI prophet 600 in the photo, the best synth I own. I will hold off from the Mike and Rich discussion, but I didn't buy it if that says anything. I will let you guys do battle on that one. Third, any of you heard the comp ATOMIC WEIGHT, I never heard of any of the artists, what do any of you know about it? gil ps to all you FAX fans, I have friend who is selling a bunch of FAX. Here are just some of the titles -SYN -OTRAS -COMPILATION 1 -GATE & SOL -DELLTRAXX -KOOLER -ESCAPE -PSYCHONAVIGATION ... and many others. Prices range between $13-20something. He thinks they are that valuable, especially all the old ones from 94 with the yellow cirles, such as Deltrax. e mail him at: obliq@ares.csd.net his name is NATE and tell you heard it from me /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ NAME:Gil aka GMV500 E-MAIL: videla@colorado.edu WEB PAGE: yeah, right! check out my friends- http://ares.csd.net/~albumsup - http://www.uea.ac.uk/~u9506276 PHILOSOPHY: AMBIENT+BREAKDANCE= IDM FINAL WORDS: MORE BEER! \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\\/\/\/\\//\/\/\/\/\/\/\\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

The original 200 proof mix available on the album is included in this four track 12". Of the remaining tracks, the two Jonah Sharp remixes are excursions in brooding breakbeat, with trippy electronic dabbling. Though not exactly groundbreaking, they do entertain while keeping relatively close to the original musical themes. The remaining track, "Bonus Drops" is a soaring beatless ambient version of Knockout Drops exploring with greater depth the melody and harmonies of 200 Proof mix. In all, a pleasant release, and good companion to the self-titled album. 8/10

I found the full length CD in Tokyo's Wave store and have to say I am glad I did. Really nice melodic techno from Japan, excellent headphone music. Mohsen
