Yes I've been after those Salo records. Eager to get them both (when money permits). There is a new SCSI-9 12" called Middle of the Way on the Force Tracks label which is excellent and the SCSI-9 track on the Artefacts comp cd (Art-tek) is excellent as well. In case you dont know SCSI-9 is the guise of Russian producer Anton Kubikov. Regarding your Audio.NL question... Audio.nl is another Frans De Waard label run though his Staalplaat organization. Not a lot of info out about these records aside from this discography: . Motor: 1, 2, 3 12" (Audio.NL 001) . Goem: Twaalf Inch 12" (Audio.NL 002) . Goem/Smolders remix 7" (Audio.NL 003) . Muslimgauze: Port Said 12" (Audio.NL 004) . Slo-fi: s/t 12" (Audio.NL 005) . Taylor Deupree 12" (Audio.NL 006) - forthcoming . Goem 12" (Audio.NL 007) - forthcoming . Motor: 4, 5, 6, 7 12" " (Audio.NL 008) . Motor: Hexen cd (Audio.NL CD1) - forthcoming?

The info on the Motor releases is, at best, vague. I've been told it is a producer out of Russia but that is all I know. As for a discography, Motor have the two 12"s & cd (which i'm eager to find) on Audio.NL and the one 12" on Salo. If Motor does have more releases I would love to know about them! Unfortunately I have no contact for him either. For those who arent familiar with the sound of SCSI-9 or Motor, Here are the lowdowns on each: . SCSI-9 produces excellent minimal Cologne-styled tech- house and bc-flavored deep techno for his two 12" releases. His track on the Artefakts comp is a light electro-tinged jazz track reminiscent of old Art of Noise tracks. . Motor produces ultra minimal experimental techno along the lines of Thomas Brinkmann's Ernst series and the Institut Feur Feinmotorik releases. -->-Lance--- lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

This album is already out and is (or was) available in Russian stores. It looks like AFX's "Analogue Bubblebath 3": a silver CD in a transparent box without any artwork. The CD has 10 untitled tracks and seems to include some tracks from his records (I haven't heard the 12"s yet...).

These Two 12"s and a CD on Audio.NL plus a 12" on Salo is everything that he released as Motor by now. He has lots of pre-Motor material released, but it is mostly cheesy commercial stuff. Now he also has an ambient sub-project called "Sinus". He hasn't released anything under this name yet but if he will, it's definetly worth checking out.

The track on Artefacts isn't a typical SCSI-9. Actually it seems to be the only non-techno/house track Anton has ever made except a couple of old ambient tracks :) His 12" on Salo is mush more representative. He has just released an album called "House Drop" on Russian "Citadel" label (unfortunately it's MC-only now, though a CD is still planned). He also has several exclusive tracks on compilations. You'll like most of his music if you enjoyed "middle of the way".
