I'm going to do a one-hour radio programme on my local radio station about Richard D. James, and there are some things I need to get help with. 1. Why did he stop playing live? 2. Was he himself involved in "Classics", or was it released by R&S without his consent? 3. I don't have any of the Joyrex EP's, and I think it would be good to play something from them in the programme. If anyone can supply me with a taping of (any of) them, I'll really appreciate it. Perhaps we can make a tape swap -- I have "AB3" and both "HAB"'s for example. 4. Any biographies etc. are welcome! Thanks! +------------------------------ Johan Jaatinen ------------------------------+ | | | MU WILL RISE AGAIN | | | +------- enigmatically posting as Anika Agebjoern <AniAg@Info.LiU.se> -------+

He thinks he's the Beatles.

Both - he contracted to release four records on R&S, and then never delivered the fourth (it would have been titled 'Phlegm,' and included "Come on You Slags"). So he wasn't involved, but he contractually consented to its release years before. C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)

Most of his gear is held together with old bubble-gum, spit, and duct tape, so dragging it around to play live probably isn't such a good idea. :) ---- The Finn / VLA | DECBEE650DEE3A0C 1ED7F54D9E023CC4 <- letters & numbers! "Come on You Slags"). I am curious, where is this information from? Also, on the picture on the CD, there are six records with spiderwebs all over them. If there's the PCP remixes, Digeridoo (Belgian and UK), Xylem Tube, and Selected Ambient 1, what is the sixth record? What's that one with the crescent on the label? Andrew

The crescent one is the original Mighty force pressing of Analogue Bubblebath. When you see the real label it comes across more as a circle within a circle. Ben "drn" Middleton mentioned the terms of the contract around the time of SAW85-92's release. 'Phlegm' was actually mentioned by name in R&S adverts, and I think Alan told me that "Come on You Slags" was supposed to have been on it. :) C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)
