If you got to Organic '96 early enough, you would have seen Mad Jym (the percussionist) and Salamander Gita (the bass player) from Loop Guru out in the crowd dancing around. I met them and snapped up their pictures. For the rest of the show, I was down front clicking away. Pix will be done later this week and if I really have my act together, I'll scan them in and put them out on a web site for everyone to enjoy... Wacky. I just came back from seeing them at a local Tower Records, and they were stupid fresh. Three drummers: one with toms & a timbale, one with metal bars and oil drums, and one with various latin stuff; a guy making wonderful horrible noises with a bass and guitar; and a cute girl who wailed some lovely quarter tone stylee. They got some serious tribal trance grooves happening with three part percussive madness, and the guitar guy set up walls of squalling noise. Didn't sound anything like Deep Forest, unless they suddenly mated with Crash Worship and Muslimgauze when I wasn't paying attention. /j/ OnNow: Full Moon Scientist -- Name: Jon Email: jsd@cyborganic.com Web: http://www.cyborganic.com/bass-kittens/

Hi everyone. I just pulled my sorry ass into the office after returning the rental. I'll have a full review of Organic '96 before the end of the day.

Instead of Pissing on a band that you were disappoint with. We should thank whoever was responsible for putting this great line-up together. I think the promoters for Organic had impeccable taste, and a good variety of styles. Every band covered different styles of dance music. I was very impressed with most of the bands, everyone from Meat Beat Manifesto to the Orb. These promoters deserve some gratitude. It was definitely one of the best events in the US, and hopefully there will be more to follow. Since most (or maybe all) of the show was recorded, I hope that some record label would put out a live disc of the performance (with artists consent). There have been a great deal of events like these Europe. I hope that the American Punters will support more events like these in the future. So far, I have only been to two shows like this NASA - See The Light Tour and ORGANIC. Thanks for the great show.
