I came across this URL while perusing rec.music.makers.synth, and thought that there'd be more than a few interested people on this list. http://www.artist.de/MC-303/index.html It's a Shockwave demo of the new Roland MC-303 Groovebox. It's already out in Europe from what I hear, and will be appearing stateside soon after the NAMM trade show in mid-July, where Roland will introduce it. You'll need to download the Shockwave plug-in from www.macromedia.com in order to get the demo. -- guyjr@cc.gatech.edu a.k.a., Guy Elden Jr.

Already had a "hands on" with this - hmmm It's very *instant* better filters than the JV series aimed squarely at someone who wants a complete package. It's got all you need to make a track with tried and tested sounds *sampled* from keyboards that Roland made in the days before they discovered mass consumerism. It's very good, but I'll be sticking with my 303/101/AlphaJuno/660/EMAXII combination as I can process each instument seperatly for EQ/FX's. When will manufacturers realise we need more outputs, what use is just a single stereo out ? M:) [-A Cyborgs Eye View-------------------- http://www.u-net.com/~cev ] | | | home of.... Hmmm, I had a hands on with it as well and was very dissapointed with it... The filters suck big time and the overall sound quality is abhorring..basically it's a repackaging of Sound Canvas technology, with a little hipper samples in there... I'm on the lookout for the kawai K5000, now there's something interesting ! Anybody heard this 128 sine oscillators per voice beast ? Oh and by the way, for all you Germans out there: the Dream House compilation CD by Arcade features two tracks by us (Human Beings) which is nice, if only they had not cut one of the tracks up to make it shorter... It's now fucked up entirely !! Also, except for a track by Quazar, the rest of the CD is total crap, so don't buy it.
