Rephlex sometimes puts the year it was recorded on the label instead of the year it was released. Cylobs Industrial Folk Songs came out in 95, but the label read 93. A few other of their releases are like this... /""'' /"'RESH Live and Direct from the G-Spot Orange County, California, USA

Hm. Or maybe it's the year it was supposed to be released. I have this theory that Grant gets in on these deals where if he gets a bulk number of labels printed up then he gets a discount or something. So then he goes and gets the labels for "Polyester" and "Industrial Folksongs" made (along with whatever else came out in 1993), but isn't actually have these particular records themselves pressed until later. He had all good intentions to release them, but... things happen. Maybe? Frugality is good business sense! xelhper. .-. qp; christopher miller == evil@digital.net '

I agree with you there, however, it seems that this has been happening as the life of Rephlex goes on and has become more complicated that just a few artists/label co-owners. So although I may be able to understand that for the Kinesthesia LP, Industrial Folk Songs LP, and the new Caustic Window LP, I don't exactly agree that this would be the case when Rephlex was starting out.

Good theory! : ) But remember, Universal Red has no printing on the label! ; ) Andrew

Maybe Grant got a good deal on a bunch of blank red labels... and some blue ones... and some yellow... much prettier than white no doubt. der. .-. qp; christopher miller == evil@digital.net '
