I just got a copy of "Feed me weird things" yesterday, and I'd
definitely say I'm impressed. I actually prefer this a lot more than the
12" simply because his style works well as an album, while the 12" left
me yapping for more. Some of my favorite tracks on the album include
"Tundra" "Smedley's Melody" and "Kodack" though I must say, there is one
hell of a RDJ influence on a lot of these tracks. All that weird heavy
bass, especially the soft synth in Tundra just oozes RDJ. Oh, that's a
good thing. :)
I'm impressed. Thanks Grant! You spotted some nice talent, and "Feed me
weird things" really soars high in quality and listening pleasure.
ObPlug: I got the Plug 1&2 CDEP yesterday...and I'm not too sure how to
feel. Being a bit of a vibert fan, I had expected a lot more than what I
got on this disc. I hope the album comes together better...after all,
while D&B is such a unique format, I have yet to hear an album of it
that really is successful (as that subtropic cd definitely wasn't).
Mind you, I haven't heard T Power, and but I have heard Goldie (yecch!)
I don't really want to catagorize this Squarepusher album as a d&b
album, cuz there's so much more than simple breaks. Now if only he'd do
more tracks like Tundra.
