yeah but although he's good i think he's more of a "novelty" thing. you know. the hall 'n' oates track got really old really fast. on the other hand, "night of the living bassheads" still sends shivers down my spine every damn time i hear it. hmmm... -jon OnNow: Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back -- Name: Jon Email: jsd@cyborganic.com Web: http://www.cyborganic.com/bass-kittens/

Well, I don't remember their sampling being really overt, in that I can regognize sources. If you have specifics you want to mention bring 'em on. And as for De La Soul being a 'novelty' thing, i'd say that they are jokey, but the music is dead on on 3 ft. Most rap acts get one loop and work it forever. Prince Paul takes 7 or 8 samples and strings together a sequence that hangs togother as a new piece of music. As goofy as 'tread water' is lyrically I can listen to it over and over again. It's also a cut my 7 year old can do all the lyrics for. "Rebel without a Pause" has the "Funky Drummer" break going all the way through it, "Terminator X to the Edge of Panic" has Queen's theme from 'Flash Gordon,' "Party for your Right to Fight" has those Beastie samples, "Fight the Power" has that "I Shot the Sheriff" sample (right?), and "She Watch Channel Zero?!" samples the same Slayer riff that KMFDM did on "Godlike"... 'course, whether any of this constitutes "sampling some good music" is up to you. C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)

Hello Jon, I bought one of your singles a while back, with a song called Rat Patrol. I have been playing at the club I spin at for about a year, great track. I have never found any other singles of yours, I heard that you have a full-length but I have never seen it. Can you give me some info? I love how fucked up the beats get a the end of that song. Do you have more songs like that?
