I don't think there is anything 'wrong' with self-indulgence. It helps
artists and music progress and provides a kind of extremity. No?
Loads of people are self-indulgent, every musician that doesn't make music
for money is. Even if they do it for cash, I s'pose they still are in a
different way.
'Deep Fried Pizza' starts off really well, with all

I disagree. One thing about Tom, he doesn't rush tracks ever. They are
exactly as he wants them - down to the last 16th. I don't reckon the album
is at all more polished, just more varied.
