i have to disagree...it is a lovely thing, where tri repeate is very smooth this has quite chunky changes. but the tunes are spot on heartmelt stuff. the a side is a killer at both 45 and 33 i really like it at 33 where we start getting into black dog territory. the b side is like the lads hanging out with scooby doo in the old deserted funhouse...top peace john

Does anybody know if its possible to join the "club" digitally (through e-mail or fax), or do I have to send out that nice Autechre card from my nice copy of Tri-Repetae? The 12" has two tracks? Any cover art? :) (the coverage of this potentially grandscale release has been minimal at best...and i'd like to see the big picture before spending 90 cents on postage...) --What the fuck? Only 90 fucking cents for postage and you need to know more about the release, huh. It's strictly limited to the fan club, it supposedly is never to be sold in stores, and is unreleased material. Has Autechre ever let you down on any other release? If so, tell me, because I have all of them, and love every one. pb4ugo2bed(Who?) James Benjamin Gill-----jgill@u.arizona.edu**********************************

I'd have to say that amongst the Autechre releases, there really isn't anything I'd have to shake a finger at...(I have them all, including the 3x10" box set of Basscadet) however...the only Gescom release I like is the 12" on Clear. I don't have Gescom 1, but I found Gescom 2 to be annoying, and the Motor 12" on Source to be irritating and dull (though the flipside first track is almost good). I hope every autechre fan has bought the Soft Ballet remix album, because the Autechre remix is superb. Certainly outperforms the rather pointless trip hop stab on "Refried Food." GODDAMMITT!! What the fuck are you talking about?!@!@#$%&^*( I LOVE GESCOM 2 YOU PUNTER! Quit trying to front on the old skool and dissing like you have in the comment underneath(see reference below). If you don't like "Mag" you've got to be retrained as a music lover. Just because a technically "intelligent techno" band has broken forth and shed some light on their roots doesn't mean it's blather. This track will move everyone in a 20000 plus gig. Reminiscent of "Access" at Glastonbury when Cox dropped it. So there.

Well, I've certainly been put in my place. Let me get into the details. Snackwitch goes nowhere...it's a cheap cut'n paste job from start to finish. Compared to the carefully detailed progression in their other material (The Sound of Machines...in a word: wow) but this track feels bland and emotionally deprived. I agree that Mag would be great in a 20,000+ gig, however, it's again dull and contrived on the home system.

about gescom: I enjoyed the motor 12". The clear release of gescom is pretty cool, take longer broader strokes to accomplish the ending effect. As for motor, I only really enjoy half of the four tracks on it, basically more minimal tech/electro. Luscious Daniel Smack robi@tiger.coe.missouri.edu http://tiger.coe.missouri.edu/~robi
