While listening to the DJ Food Refried Food CD I noticed that the first two tracks,
Strange Taste and Spiral Dub, sound a lot like slowed-down jungle programming. Since I
don't have pitch or speed control on my CD player and I only have the CD version, I
can't really tell how it would sound sped up. Do the tracks sound more like d&b tracks
when sped up?
Also I was wondering if anyone has tried constructing d&b tracks by cutting up MIDI
sequences as opposed to audio files? It seems like a cool way to do breakbeats, either
by deconstructing/rearranging pre-existing MIDI sequences and then assigning drum
patches to the beats or even deriving them with a pitch-to-MIDI sequencing package...
