after a few months of looking i managed to snag another space cd to replace the one i prematurely traded...question: has anyone sat down and worked out where in the cd the songs divide? it's one big long track, but eight songs, and i was wondering if someone could send me the track divisions (in minutes and seconds or something like that). how many of these cds were pressed? i've seen a total of two, and only know of a couple people that have them...what's the market value (i paid $12 and $20 for mine)? what us label is going to be releasing the new orbital cd? thanks, BiZ

I'll lead off with a tangent: if there's someplace online that's offering more info on the festival with Orb/Orbital/Underworld/et al. next month, can you please post about it?

These are the track lengths I have in the KLF discography, but keep in mind that they're only an educated guess: 1:40 Mercury 2:00 Venus 8:47 Mars 6:36 Jupiter 2:35 Saturn 3:08 Uranus 9:38 Neptune 3:57 Pluto

My guess is that KLF Communications pressed around 1000. Whatever the actual figure, it was a very short run and was hard to get even shortly after it was released. Dunno what you could get for a legit copy on the open market; it's been bootlegged more than once, which reduces how much cash you could easily get for an original.

As far as I know they're still on ffrr in the US. -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo)

I thought that space was rereleased on Wax Trax along with the other KLF stuff they reissued (chill out and the 12"s). My Space cd is pressed such that my cd player only recognizes it as having one track. As I don't have a fancy cd player which denotes movements I have to fast forward the damn thing to play other songs. annoying!!!! Mark Bowen mb@gettins.bche.uic.edu

Nope -- the only legit pressing of Space was the one on KLF Communications. There's a "clone" bootleg that duplicates the original CD issue (also available on LP) and another boot (1995, on "Wix Trax!" [sic]) that combines Space with all but the last four minutes or so of The White Room.

That's the way they all are. It's meant to be heard as a single piece, just like Chill Out. -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo)
