Nor can I. I think that most of these tracks are original or at least 99% original, (except for the one that obviously sounds like a remix, #6 or 7 I think) which makes Ventolin an album in its own right, well, almost. As an album, it works better than most of the other Aphex stuff, for some reason. To all of you mad about the tracks cut from the Plug disc... How long is this CDS? I'll bet anything that the two tracks were cut (never liked the third mix of cheesy anyway) in order to squeeze the thing to under 40 minutes... Reminds me, did it take anyone here longer than two years to realize that 28 Mix is a version of D-Scape? All that time I was wondering where the hell did this monster come from...cripes...my fave afx track, too. :p I'm curious to know what people on this list think of that new Seefeel spinoff Scala. Raves over at ambient and 4ad-l (or maybe just 4ad-l) but something rubs me the wrong way, the way it is described. Thanks to everyone who wrote/posted with drum 'n' bass tutelage...I am in your debt. O yeah, but I was wondering what *LFO* release I should pick up next. Guess it doesn't matter. Will pick something up at random. * May 16th, 1996 - Einexile's Light Becomes Part of the Earth *

Fuck, so the CD has less music than the new 2x12'? Someone please confirm this.... /""'' /"'RESH Live and Direct from the G-Spot Orange County, California, USA

To clarify. The CD single lists all the original tracks but omits 6:07 from Plug 1 and Cheesy Pic'n mix from Plug 2. It is 42 minutes long which, I believe, means it is not a proper single in the UK (it's actually sold for a few pounds more too). The double 12" does *not* list the above two omitted tracks so, in all probability, is the same as the CD. peter

It wouldn't be anyway, as it has versions of more than one song. The 40-minute limit applies only to singles with versions of one song - the limit for those with more than one is 25 minutes. C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker)

28 Mix is a version of D-Scape? I never thought that the 28 mix was a version of Dscape. I always thought that it was one of the tracks that RDJ cut from the SAW2 full-length. I read somewhere that he had to cut about 6 tracks from what he really wanted to release, like it was going to be a 3 disc set or something. This one was slated to be #28. D-Scape was probably one of those as well. I could be totally wrong, though. : ) Andrew

D-Scape sounds to me like it was an earlier recording, from the SAWI period. The second track on the first EP was a precursor to ventolin, I guess. Listening to SAWII, I realise that there are a couple of tracks that are very close indeed to 'acrid avid jamshred' on this album. He developed these ever so slightly, and came up with the Mo'waxy 'acrid avid jamshred'. richard
