Info needed.Im going to New York for the Summer and I plan on buying a lot of vinyl. The sort of stuff Im looking for is IDM,Acid and Detroit style Techno or amything on Plus8,Synewave and Experimental etc.Where are the best and cheapest stores to get this type of music? Also I hear 1210s in the US can be bought for under $400.If so,where? What clubs are there? How old do you have to be to get in the door.Any info will be much appreciated. As I live in Ireland,US Imports are expensive,?7-8 for an e.p. But UK releases are not(Warp etc.. are not to hard to come by). So,if anybody living in NY wants me to bring releases over,no problem. Thanks for your heip... Sean.

Don't go to NYC for "cheap" records. They are about average... The musts are Sonic Groove (formerly Groove in Brooklyn run by Adam X and Heather Heart among others), Temple, and Satellite. I can't remember of the last two wich is which but one of them is run by Kahn of Mille Plateau fame (has recorded much with Walker and is Cem Oral's little brother) and the other is run by... uh... John something, Mr. Cool-Aid... Hrm. It's late and my memory is shot from Physics. AHA!! Kadish... Johnathan Kadish and Scott.. Aw shit I give up. Good night. Isn't there a record shop info web page somewhere??? __ -robert | |___ ____ ____ _____ | |_ \ / -__/ / _/ | _ \ __________ |_____/ \___\ |_| | |__/ / -studio- \ _________________________________ |_| http://icse1.ucsd.edu/~rcurlee/ \

yes, the Rotator Locator (http://hyperreal.com/music/rotator/) continues to grow, albeit slowly. As always, i greatly appreciate any and all submissions of notable stores you've visited which i don't already have in the database. pointing the old browser to the submittal page at http://hyperreal.com/music/rotator/submit.htm takes only about 3 min per store. ob IDM on now: B12 time tourist playstation nintendo bladerunner post industrial night drive 6 mile road intell-ambience continues to slay me.... peeeeeeeeeeeeeeece.
