I tend to agree with the support for cardboard. I'm still miffed at a coworker who broke my jewel box that contains my FSOL "Papua New Guinea" CD. And I have several other boxes that were shipped to me from far away places that arrived all broken up. At least the CDs were intact. Replacing these plastic cases every time they break (which is often for me) can get to be downright expensive. So, I really like my cardboard cases. They are a little dog-eared, but they haven't broken on me. Odd side track: Most unusual CD containers that I own: 1. Spacetime Continuum "Emit Ecaps" in that "pouch" 2. Deee-Lite (I know, you're all having a heart attack!) [I can't think of the title of the album] in a cardboard/plastic container. 3. Emergency Broadcast Network "Telecommunication Breakdown" also in a cardboard/plastic hybrid. It also has a Mac floppy in it. Oh yeah, the CD itself contains videos on it, which can be played on your PC's CD-ROM. Way cool. Record companies: Wise up! Artists: Take control of how your product is marketed. Be creative. Make a statement. 'Nuf said, Renee _______________________________________________________________________________ Subject: Re: (idm) I WANT MY BLOODY JEWEL BOXES!!!!!! I'm with you, man. You can't use recycled plastic to make jewel boxes, it has to be brand new virgin oil fresh out of the ground. Yuk! Cheers Andrew C.

I got sick of toting around 100 jewels, so I just discarded all the boxes and thinpacked my CDs in those Case Logic sleeves; not the big booklets, but the indivuidual slips. I find them most handy and better than jewel boxes in most every way. I can now carry around 4 times as many CDs as before. -jon On 15 May 1996, Renee Baker wrote:

>Make a statement. Actually, the best CD that I have in my collection is a promo for Sting's _Soul Cages_ album (yes I like MANY different types of music) that came in a 1 and 1/2 foot square painted burlap folded up with the CD inside and tied with thick string. Now THAT's a cool way to market a CD. Andrew
