Hi y'all, got a couple questions here: - does anyone have any reviews about some of Richard Kirk's newer non-Warp stuff, especially: Kirk - Black Jesus voice Kirk - Ugly spirit Sandoz - Digital Lifeforms Sandoz - Every man got dreaming - can anyone clue me in on LFO? Don't have a single record of theirs. - Does anyone know whether or not HIA: Freefloater is gonna be domestically (US, that is) released and what it's like? As for the RHK, Black Jesus Voice and Ugly Spirit are not new at all. They are actually several years old. They are not along the same lines as his newer techno ala Sandoz, the last 3 CV, etc. I would put them more in the class of older, more eerie CV. They are both really good in that 80's kind of collaging/sampling sort of way. Very dark at times. His Sandoz stuff is definitley a lot happier-great fun agressive yet playful uptempo ambient dub. Get this stuff for sure. Some say the other Sandoz album, INTENSELY RADIOACTIVE, is the best of the 3. They are all great IMHO. Email me back if you want more specifics on his discography. I have Every Man Got Dreaming, and it's crazy stuff. A great deal of the release consists of ethic samples (brazillian samba, misc. african) mixed in with Richard Kirk's own grooves. It's pretty cool, and I suppose you could even compare it in some ways to Brian Eno/David Byrne's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. It is a bit repetitive in places, but quite imaginative nontheless...
