The MC303 is NOT [really] a digital version of the 303 with 909/808 sounds.
It is
a sexy box with a cool sequencer but it only uses SAMPLES. So what you
get is a shitload of every possible sample out of the 303 together with
loads of other techno XoX box sounds, also some Juno strings etc.
It uses a TVF filter, found in modern Roland Equipment.
NO 303 Analog filter which is a shame. And really Roland haven't got the
slightest idea what they are doing if you ask me.
Anyway 250 pounds is too much. There are much better things available
even much cheaper, with which you can create your own sounds in a true creative
way.
Try the Casio CZ101 [The cheapest most phatest analog sounding digital synth]
Yamaha DX-xx, FB01 , Poly 800, Korg Ms10 or even Roland MT-32 (Which Mills
uses).
With a little nifty programming these things sound as good as any Modular Moog,
ARP 2600,Xpander or JD800.
Bye.
