I think it's more like the ranks of Former Industrialists With A Clue[tm]
are continually swelling ... :-)
For example, one of the Front 242 guys did his Cyber-Tec side project that's
apparently Techno-influenced. Another example, Download asked Geir Jenssen
to do a Biosphere remix of one of their tracks where it now sits alongside
a Haujobb remix. Then there's Scorn's "Ellipsis". Things like Techno-Animal.
I suspect it's a natural outgrowth - if an artist in one genre begins to like
music nominally identified as being in another - the path of least resistance
is probably to make music identified with the former while enlisting someone
from the latter to remix it. Putting out music in a style identified with
the latter crowd can wait, if it even happens at all.
If you want to talk "interpollination" - i.e. artists still identified with
the former genre intermingling with artists identified with the latter, as
opposed to artists identified with the former doing music in a style that's
identified with the latter - then I suspect the folks like Silent are worth
checking into. I've seen some releases (I suspect, without owning them to
check the track listings and participants) like "Swarm of Drones" that are
populated by folks who I'd identify as being from both sides of the fence.
(Of course, that presupposes that there's a "fence" there to begin with, but
that's a whole 'nother argument ... )

"Not bloody likely!"
To the best of my knowledge, the Industrial clubs in L.A. (both of them? hee)
are still stuck in The Land That Time Forgot ...
