Hi Folks, After browsing this list for a couple of months it seems to me that our American cousins have the jump on us in the UK when it comes to being able to buy RePHLeX releases. Reviews by Americans of new RePHLeX gubbins have been posted before the bloody thing has even been sighted over here. What gives? Am I just being paranoid? Hell, I don't mind if it is true ('cos I realize what a shitty deal you guys have over there regarding Warp liscensing and import prices) I'm just curious to know. take care, love, Rob.

I'll second this. Here in Liverpool I've had the Kinesthesia remix EP (ie not the album) on order for nearly two months now without any sign of it making an appearance. (Way Ahead in Leeds can't seem to get it either) No sign of the Future Sound LP either (though we did get some promos for the Lisa Carbon Trio...) The local independent shop here says that not only do you not get records ordered from RePHLex but you never get an explanation of why they don't appear either... (They did get a discography the other day though...) peter

And you're unlikely to ever see it at a guess, unless they press some more. It never appeared in Birmingham either! One shop tried to order it for me but came back with "out of stock". Yet Lisa Carbon Trio was everywhere and the Future Sound LP was in one shop too. <getting desperate> Does ANYONE know of ANYWHERE in the UK where this damn record can actually be found?

Don't forget however that Rough Trade (or RTD or whatever they wish to be called) are doing the distributing, not Rephlex, so it must be at least partly down to them. But how come WARP stuff makes it everywhere when that is also handled by them? This strangely seems to be the case. I was able to get Empathy Box LP on the thursday before its release date in the UK here in the US (in Orange County to boot!) and I haven't had any trouble finding new Rephlex releases at all. As a matter of fact a local store just got three NEW Universal Indicator Greens in (don't ask me how). The only problem at times is finding new Rephlex CD's. BTW, does anyone know if the new Caustic Window album is going to be released on CD as well Viynl? AND what the fuck is Amyl Nitrate? Why do I keep reading about it and what exactly is it? Some drug to do with Brit Pop, right? Peace out... /""'' /"'RESH Live and Direct from the G-Spot Orange County, California, USA

It's an intense vasodialator intended for people with angina pectoris. A volitile liquid that you inhale, that runs your heart rate up about 300 percent and gives you an intense rush, that lasts about 30 seconds. Related is a substance butyl nitrate, which through a legal loophole is available in the US over the counter, since it's a common industrial solvent. It's a popular recreational drug, but it is really bad for you. Major brain cell decimation. Also not a good idea if you have any heart condition, aside from the one for which it is prescribed, as it can put you into atrial fibrillation in New York Minute. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "watch out fo the norad and such, they only clam analogness" -- Tim Goldman Kent Williams kent@inav.net (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

The Green universal indicator came out a long time ago, I don't recommend it, very disappointing. Amyl Nitrate is also called Rush. I think it is almost like sniffing glue. It has these fumes that come out the bottle, and it is suppose to give you a head rush. I don't know what the hype is, That Brit Hop and amyl house cd has some great club tracks, but the name of the compilation SUCKS.
