The terms Techno in these song titles do not necessarily refer to the
style of music. The use of the word 'Techno' in these song titles
could refer to Alvin Toffler's work. As we are all aware this is one
the main influences on the origins of this style of music. This is
the fact re Cybotron.
Even when Kraftwerk were producing their music it was termed as
electro pop, electronic music or something similar. It was not until
1988 that the term 'Techno' was popularised and used regularly to
refer to this style of music.
Sure it can be catagorised as Techno now, but not then because the
term did not exist then.
What about the work of the predecessors of Kraftwerk. The early synth
pioneers in the 50s, 60s & 70s. Would you call there work Techno? From
what I understand from y'all, anything that uses electronic instuments
completely can be classified as Techno.
