Greetings from my bedroom.
For the first time since i was about 10, I put on my brother's old copy of
Vangelis' "Greatest Hits" double LP. After randomly dropping the needle
where it seemed fit, I sat back to the melodic sounds of "12 O'clock." At
the precise moment, I was flooded with the most astonishing feelings of
familiarity, (a similar experience occured just last night when I walked
into a tree after an interview with Front Line Assembly...I always was good
at first impressions.) To get to the point, CJ Bolland's track "Con
Spirito" on the newish "Electronic Highway" (R&S) is an exact copy of the
Vangelis track...that is, essentially CJ Bolland has done a nice techno
remix. The fundamental basics remain intact...theme and all. I was
surprised at how similar they were...
Anyways, we don't get much trainspotting up here in the North, so I thought
I'd share this precious moment with y'all.
