Sorry all but... Can we not refer to Squarepusher as Jungle. If you must categorise it then maybe try jazz fusion or techno (note I did not put capitals) but he especially takes great exception to this. As I understand (seeing him on a regular basis) Jungle doesn't play a part in his life at all and he finds that it is generally failing. I don't think it's anywhere as near as close an influence to him as these other styles and, if you listen again with this in mind I'd hope you'd see our point. I don't want to start a big debate about this (IT WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLY BORING WASTE OF TIME) and don't really want to type an essay so that nobody misunderstands me. Just read again and listen again before you jump on the computer. Also ask yourself if we really want so much... Just don't call it Jungle any more. If you read his interviews in his own words, it's easier to understand. Also, for those of you who want to know what's coming on Rephlex, listen to the middle track on the A of Allroy road, or the Ninja remix. I would say that it's more in this direction than the other stuff, although there's a fair share of Worm Interface track 2. AND MORE. Remember - this is just ME, Grant, one person, talking. And if you're hunting for his records, try STEREOTYPE on NOTHING'S CLEAR records (a couple of years old). Low tech, silently pressed but FULL of feeling. I hope this is a help, not a problem. GCHQ.

(or just use their names, if you want to refer to it)) .. back to squarepusher, is the first dragon disk by him or not? if so, please tell me it's not like pink floyd - like i read somewhere ..

Also, Goldie asked him to be Best Man for his wedding to pop-diva Bjork Gundmansdottir. Maybe he'll spin a few at the reception. ____ __,--- --.__ ,- ; . What about Drum & Bass, or Urban Breakbeat, or any of other terms for "that really fast music" floating about? Maybe we can make our own little term for it by combining part of one term, with part of another. How about combining fusion and jungle, into the new term of "fungle"! It always makes me scratch my head when artists get so upset about labels. Tricky hates being called a trip-hop act, United Future Orginization hate the acid jazz label. Thats all good and fine, but what are you supposed to say when you head out to the store? "You have the new UFO 12'?" "What kind of music is it?" "Why do we always have to catagorize everything? Why do we have to label one type...of...uhhh....mmmm....fuck it, its acid jazz." Rock on, -Fresh
