No, this actually has only peripherally to do with their music. While they were here in Winnipeg, Autechre let us play with these wicked little handheld samplers. My friends and I were absolutely floored by these little numbers, and we want them. They allow you to store beats, chords and voices, and samples can be played over top of each other too. They were little garish transluscent toys with the words 'SFX' in them. Does anyone know where I can find these, short of 'on the streets of Tokyo'? Thanks, Neal.

They're at Toys 'r' Us (and most other toy stores) and sell for under $20 US funds. My friend Sasja (who is also on this list), came over from the Netherlands and almost bought one. I guess that Autechre where just showing off there new toys :) Later, Sasja PS: Advise for all Europeans, go to a Toys 'r' Us or something like that when you visit the US, you'll be amazed at what kind of "toys" they sell :) // Sasja "CHrOmE" Barentsen chrome@xs4all.nl -o- http://www.xs4all.nl/~chrome/
