From Rephlex in reply:
LISTEN, rem-features.
1. THIS IS NOT A REPHLEX RECORD, can you see any familiar cat. nos.
2. The record is about nuclear weapons testing - not the French.
Read the back cover. The issue seems to have dropped from the
headlines somewhat so this seems the ideal time for a release, I
reckon.
Of all the topics that this record raises, all you can think about
is release schedules... THAT says everything about you.
From lowly me in reply:
Goddamn! I didn't recieve any of the digesta a week or so back and
only got a look at this today. Anyhow, let me say that OF COURSE
nuclear testing is an important issue, but if I am not mistaken,
there is at the present time an international treaty agreed upon by
all nations with nuclear power/weapons that prohibts nuclear
testing. China and France where the lasts hold outs on this and
they have both now agreed to its terms and conditions. So its not
that I don't think its an important issue, just one that we don't
have to worry about at the present time. As a matter of fact there
are several more pressing international issues which require more
attention than this I believe. Specifically in the area of human
rights in China, Bosnia, Mexico....this should be our real fighting
ground at the moment for all of us liberal bleeding hearts (me
included). Human rights I hope will become THE issue for the
international community as we approach 2000.
Now I don't mean to sound like I'm constantly getting down on
Rephlex for late releases, etc. It's only that it takes a lot of
time to keep on top of things (especially when no one at the stores
knows what you're talking about) and it gets somewhat discouraging
at times juggling special orders and trying to figure out when
something is goig to be released only to have it not come out after
a lot of work trying to make sure I get a copy. So let me apologize
to my favorite label if I sometimes become a bit fustrated and
ungrateful. Rephlex IS fighting the good fight in the name of OUR
music, and we love them for it.
