Call it what you will this p-funk chemical beats spacedub kinda techno.
Whatever the latest fashion label or trendy gimmick, Jedi Knights do it
mighty fine. Jedi Knights' founders Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton
(Global Communication, Wish Mountain, E621, Link, Reload and others) use
their Jedi Knights project to record tongue-in-cheek funky little numbers,
which have appeared both on their own Evolution Records, as well as an ep
on Clear.
"New School Science" is a layed back feel good techno album boasting
a smooth fusion of jazzy beats and the aural equivalent of a cool breeze
of a hot summer's day. In the words of the Jedi Knights, "Intergalactic
Funk Detectives have reported a severe funk deficiency on the plant's dance
floors." By far, "New School Science" is the solution to a funk deficient
music collection. Oh, and it's about time someone was brave enough to use
that Monty Python sample, "We are the knights who say nee!" in a track.
Brilliant work from start to finish.
