I just wanted to throw my two cents in on this debate... 1) Vinyl is cooler than CD'S. 2) Analog sounds much better for this type of music - the cracks and pops make it sound REAL. This is why we use analog gear not digital. A few artists I know use only reel to reel, they won't even use DAT's, unless you really know how to EQ it properly, the bass just isn't the same. 3) Records are a billion times more easy to DJ. You can do cool tricks with them too. 4) In regards to them wearing out - I think its better - CD's are too permanent. ??5) CD's are big cash grab by the music industry. Its a big scam. 6) Low tech is cool. Vinyl is cooler. The only better thing I can think of for CD's is that they are much lighter, which makes serious travelling easier, and the won't melt on the tables in the sun. And to end my two cents (and proof of vinyl superiority) - Listen to a basic channel track on CD, then listen to one on Vinyl. BUY VINYL (quote from Basic Channel CD) Andy
