It's a worthy cause...go on... Jeff Good day. This is a CAMPAIGN. The Brits nominations for best video have just been announced. You have, in your hands, the power to make two of Britains most fantastic and scary artistes famous, in a Belle and Sebastian Stylee. These people are; Chris Cunningham, one of the most original and creative video directors in the World (now retired) and Aphex Twin (a.k.a.) Richard D. James, the household name in avant-garde electronica (or whatever you wish to call it). Your mission, if you choose to accept it is to visit the Brits nomination site, www.britsvoting.com and place your vote for WINDOWLICKER as the UKs top video of this year. I know that many of you are probably Spike Jonze fans, (he has directed the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim nominations), but he is already a rather well established name in the music video and film world. Chris Cunningham is still to release his film ideas and hasn't been on any MTV award shows yet. Equally, Aphex Twin needs to be on the Brits for several reasons. Firstly, the Brits is stagnating, with a poor lack of diversity and innovation being shown in the winners. Aphex Twin and his Rephlex posse will only serve to make it a million trillion times more interesting and they're slightly more deserving then Robbie Williams. For those of you aren't sure of the video in question, Visit; www.warpnet.com The video, crudely summarised, is a parody of those American rap-video booty fixated affairs, but amazingly shot, with a bizarre twist involving these beautiful filles prancing about with Aphex Twin's face electronically placed onto their pretty visages. Which is all a bit shocking really. This will be the second blow to the British Music Industry after Belle and Sebastian winning the Brits Best newcomer last year (thanks to a university mass voting session). Out of the celebrity Nominations panel on MTV uk, Jamie Theakston pleaded for it to be included on the grounds of diversity, whilst Baby Spice begged for it to be removed. The other nominations are; 1. Aphex Twin'Windowlicker' 2. The Chemical Brothers 'Let Forever Be' 3. Fatboy Slim 'Praise You' 4. Supergrass 'Pumping On Your Stereo' 5. Robbie Williams 'She's The One' You KNOW what to do... Please note, multiple votes from the same person will be disqualified. Please distribute and edit as required this email to as many people as you can. Take a look at the video for yourself on www.warpnet.com and see its brilliance for yourself! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
