Two new sparkling releases on Beatservice Records:
*** BS 005 THEORY: En-Route 12" ***
Ken Theory has grown up together with Geir "Biosphere" Jenssen and Per "Mental
Overdrive" Martinsen in the city of Tromsoe, the Detroit of Norway. From early
collaborations with Mental Overdrive in the late eighties, to his current solo
project Theory, he has been one of the leading artists in the norwegian techno
scene. His reputation has also been build on solid live shows around
Scandinavia. He is currently working as an engineer and producer in Oslo?s
leading dance/techno studio DiscLab, where he has worked with such different
projects as Bel Canto, norwegian/pakistan singer Deepika and the new big
techno act from Norway, Illumination (Internal).
He has previously contributed tracks to the "XS To The Ravezone" compilations,
both as Theory, and as Shuffle And Groove along with Kurt Vildgreen. After a
long time in the Beatservice archives, his debut EP "En-Route" is finally
released. It contains two long and trancy techno tracks with the Theory
trademarks: groovy rhythms, cool vocals and melodic themes.
*** BS008 PACEMAKER: Pacemaker EP 12" ***
When new age-composer Erik Woello and the leading norwegian ambient DJ Per
Henrik Svalastog get together, one would maybe expect floating ambient stuff?
Oh no! Under the PACEMAKER name, they have made a collection of exciting
techno-tracks with a housey groove and tribal-elementes. "Pacemaker",
"Airsation" and "Expresso" are dancefloor variations over different themes,
and the EP is rounded off with the more experimantal "Shankra", a listening
track with interesting rythmic patterns.
