Well, haven't heard much stuff from Bruce Gilbert, except some records from Wire (which I do hold in high esteem in spite their current desperate plagiarizers like Elastica), but I think as a fellow countryman of Jimi Tenor I should be a little bit offended about describing him just as a passing fad, since Jimi has been making music here in Finland well over a decade, anything from experimental industrial to jazz, and has definitely payed his dues. I understand from your perspective he must seem like some hopeful wannabe newcomer, but please try to give the guy some respect, even if his music was too gimmicky and "trendy" for you. Thrashy easy listening is not quite everything Jimi Tenor's all about... ;)

I totally & utterly agree. Almost everything any of Wire's member ever did is brilliant (okay, okay, I never tasted the sprouts Robert Gotobed grew on this farm in Wales, but still..). The Gilbert albums could all be considered "ambient" (although I prefer "experimental", or just "wire & related", which is a separate style to me), and I was very pleased to find mr. Richard D. James playing large chunks of Gilbert's "This Way" album when he DJ'd over here in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. While we're on the subject.... does anyone know if Gilbert's latest release, a 12" or album which I think is called "Ab Ovo", was ever released? It was supposed to be out through Mute a while ago, but I haven't been able to find it. Maarten

Well, there is this music which is by all definitions good and masterpieceful but that will never give you the Adrenalin rush that the new and live stuff sometimes gives.
