Anyone ever replace their crossfader on a stanton pmc610? If so please
contact me. Thanks. (This is a dj thread no?) Ever get that feeling
like when you're sitting in a macdonalds and the muzak is coming on
strong but still inside your head strong riffs and beats collide and
maintain "set it off on the left...". Not that I'm getting that
feeling now or anything.
Anyways, I picked up the February 1996 Source magazine. You know, the
one with Luther on the beach in a wicker chair...champagne chilling.
"BASS makes the frontpage baby." I smile to the guy sitting next to me
as he's grinding up a chicken nugget. Really, what caught my eye
was the "SPECIAL REPORT" on "Graffiti, Breakdancing and DJing". !!!!!
Yep, it's well written even.

``The Most High felt inspired one day and decided to create
the DJ-the sun around which all other elements of hip-hop
music and culture revolve. DJ's were the original techno
magicians, the visionary urbanites who appropriated the
technical tools and sonic vocabulary of the larger society,
stirred them in with a dash of rule shattering creativity
and spat out hip-hop music.'' -pg67 s.s.hinds 'the vocabulist'

[I knew there was a reason why I decided to get my BA in Soc.-tp]
It's a damn fine peace and respects are due to Selwyn Seyfu Hinds who
cleverly pens the trenchtown elements eloquently and all that. Oh and
the pictures!! Think: "Behold the sacred instrument: Kid Capri at the
eternal technics 1200" OH YES!!

PS: Baltimore records rock well. Full info and reviews cursing my
procrastination still.
