I know well, that just because it has a violin it doesn't mean it's folky...it's just this is a type of folky track, i'm not sure that it has any eastern-ness about it, actually it doesn't have any eastern-ness about it. I didn't say it was good only that i thought the xpress:2 remix of Captain Dread by dreadzone is the closest id say idm has come to folk, without being Enigma...or the latest Delerium album. I think it's a kind of track that appears a bit tacky when you first hear it, and that most idmers will hate, except a few of my mates have actually bought it and love it. As for Banco de Gaia, and Eastern Style idm, i'm not sure that Banco has ever been 'Intelligent', but people like Banco De Gaia, and the feed your head series on Planet dog have got eastern style ambience, banco's first album is quite trancey. If you want some eastern type stuff then dare i say...Transglobal Underground/ Natcha Atlas. I don't like this stuff, so i'm not the one to judge. thanks, Nick.
