Our beloved list owner, Alan M. Parry has heard/reviewed it...check it

I own the 12" as well and I'm in love with it. Truly out of the ordinary and very experimental. At one time I was grasping for the correct analogy to make and what easily comes to mind is that old supercool arcade game Tempest. Teep

The recent edition of Magic Feet features an interview with a couple of guys called Machine Codes, which have recently released "Beyond The Box". The article promises a hybrid of techno (as if anyone really knows what techno is anymore) and electro-acoustic music. Something of a turn-on, if you ask me, but has anyone actually heard it? What'd you think; does it live up to it's expectations? /Oivind Idso/

Machine Codes is the name of the label, it belongs to Mike Dred aka the Kosmik Kommando of Rephlex fame. There are four EPs so far: Mike Dred : Fu-Chin-Ra (Code A) Mike Dred : Kosmik Konundrums (Code B) Mike Dred : Code C (Code C) Mike Dred & Peter Green : Beyond The Box (Code D) All are very acidic as you might expect, but Beyond the Box is quite different and really quite brilliant. You can find reviews of a couple of the others in /music/reviews/fluid/ here on Hyperreal. :: Alan M. Parry :: fluid@hyperreal.com :: <finger me for PGP key> :: http://hyperreal.com/~fluid
