Spotted in Mixmag Update on alt.rave: GENERATOR AXED GENERATOR magazine has folded, just as it was enjoying the most successful period in its history. The dance music magazine, which ran for three years, succumbed to debts run up in the early part of its existence. It folded last week, in the middle of production for the latest issue. Despite the receiver being called in by the title's publishers Gillies, there were hopes the new issue would see the light of day, with talks taking place between Generator and various publishers, but that now looks unlikely. Qu'elle bumaire ... Generator had a pretty high S/N ratio and was far more IDM oriented than Musik. And I don't know of any places to find Jockey Slut in here in Southern California ... (anyone?). Sigh. - Greg

True. Generator was a little better than Muzik or Mixmag(in some instances), so I guess i'll stop looking for it. The Beltram issue was by far the best, next to Who's Who In Jungle. E-mail recordtime@aol.com or albumsup@csd.net & see if they have any. Recordtime usually carries most of the rags, but i haven't used the store for my vinyl needs lately... Derek
