I read (can't remember where) that they came up with the name by accident when typing on a computer. Everyone I know pronounces it 'OR-tek-ruh'... Has anyone heard the shit-hot white label going around with the Kenny Larkin and Stacey Pullen remixes of Sade? Checked it out yesterday - it's on Illegal Detroit, I think, and it's just a white with 'KL' on one side and 'SP' on the other. Very interesting, and highly illegal :) see ya _________________________________________________ tom churchill e-mail: tom@chrchfam.demon.co.uk electronic musician/reviewer/dj _________________________________________________

Kenny Larkin has strenuously denied having anything to do with this disk. Whether that means he did it and wants to deny it for legal reasons, or he really didn't do it, it's not for me to say. Personally, the first Sade album was OK -- bought it when it came out way back. But everything she's done since then has sucked hard vacuum ... how many semi-jazzy 2 chord songs can you stand to listen to before you start puking up blood? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Home Page: http://I.m.too.dumb.to.hack.html/~kent Kent Williams kent@inav.net (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

According to Mixmag Update: 'Kenny Larkin has admitted that he and Stacey Pullen are behind the much sought-after bootleg of Sade's album track 'Give It Up'...When asked by Update if he was behind the tune, Kenny intially denied all knowledge. But when he asked "Does the track suck?" and was told that it doesn't, he replied "Yeah, we did it!" '"We wanted to do something different," he continued, "be a bit adventurous, live dangerously for a change. It's a lot of fun to do something that you're not supposed to be doing. There's gonna be more stuff on that label too, not just Sade tracks, all sorts of things. It's good when everyone thinks you're just doing techno or whatever, and you know there's more going on there."' I wasn't impressed enough to buy it, but it did sound interesting... see ya _________________________________________________ tom churchill e-mail: tom@chrchfam.demon.co.uk electronic musician/reviewer/dj _________________________________________________

According to a Kenny Larkin post on 313, he and Stacey did _not_ do this record. <begin included post>
