At this time we are only in the process of promoting CHEAP RECORDS that sitaution should expand by the summer. For those that hadn't heard... Robert Hood's release on Cheap was pulled from the shelves. He has an exclusive deal with TRESOR but didn't let our Cheap friends in on that fact. There were rumors of a possible lawsuit but that seemed to go away. Dietrich

As much as I appreciate many of the records Tresor have released, they have a rep around here (from artists who have worked with them) as being a pain in the ass to deal with, from a musician's point of view: they're as obnoxious as the majors when it comes to contractual matters -- one artist was told that he couldn't even do a DJ mix tape for a music magazine because he was signed to Tresor. -- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@mich.com born freeke Dave Walker

Aren't Tresor owned by a major? I know Logic owns them (heh - the same label as all that Euro-pap) and I think a biggie major owns Logic...

Tresor's 'fuck you' attitude won't do anyone any good - they're gonna lose those good artists they have, like I can't see Jeff Mills being too impressed about the Hood situation. "Stay low, stay underground," is kind of appropriate here. || [CiM] || s.walley@uea.ac.uk || http://www.sys.uea.ac.uk/~u9323899/
