Last night on Brave New Waves (CBC FM Stereo), Mike Paradinas was the featured interviewee. Patty Schmidt talked to him for half an hour and played a few tracks. He talked about an album he collaborated on with Aphex Twin in 1994. It is unreleased because the record label (he didn't specify who) didn't and doesn't have enough money to release it. I think he said that he hoped it would be released in 1996 but I'll have to listen to the interview agin to be sure. Mike was asked about a website devoted to him and he replied,"Oh..you mean Alan Parry?" You're famous now big guy! She also played the Reload remix from the Nav Katze album. Sounds great. Apparantly the album is a compilation of remixes from Reload, Aphex Twin and many others. Does anyone know the name? She didn't mention it. Dave

It's called "Nevermind the Distortion" by japaneese pop band Nav Katz. It contains one remix by Ultramarine, two mixes by Black Dog, Two mixes by Aphex Twin, and two mixes by Reload. It is available as an import through the Scandinavian label SSR. It is one of the best remix compilations of '95, IMHO. I believe the label Pardinas was referring to when asked about his collaborative lp with Richard James is Rephlex. Hope this helps. -->-Lance--- mclance@en.com

In addition to all this, he also said: 1. He has done some kind of collaboration with Luke Vibert. 2. He is currently working on a u-ziq album. 3. He didn't do much writing at all in 95, due to heavy promotion and lots of live gigs. 4. He has composed an album he describes as techno-jazz. He said it was mostly sampled vibes, acid squelches and fast breakbeats. Sounds yummy! 5. Tracks played during the show were: Jake Slazenger - Bow something, u-ziq - funky pipecleaner, and Kid Spatula - Not Human. He also seemed like a really nice guy. Didn't elaborate on any questions too much, but answered most questions adequately. Phil Downey On Thu, 11 Jan 1996, Lance C. McGannon wrote:

He seemed to think this could be released February or March of this year. Maybe GCHQ can fill us in.

He said he hadn't actually seen it, but had seen a different one that he thought was pretty poor. He also said he would be joining the internet soon. When asked if he was flattered or embarassed by the work alan has put into the web site, he replied that if he was a really big fan of something he would probably do the same sort of thing.

That sounds about right.

I know that he has seen it, because he sent me some mail saying so which included information that was missing such as the Bluff Limbo tracklist. :: Alan M. Parry :: fluid@hyperreal.com :: <finger me for PGP key> :: http://hyperreal.com/~fluid

yeah, but in the interview in ON, at the Global Headz site (http://obsolete.com/headz/oncover.html), he says something to the tune that "the Mu-Ziq page is filled with falsehoods and untruths". I assume he's talking about the Ziq-Faq, cuz there's not another I'm aware of. Everything Alan has there appears to be true, isn't it?????? peeeeeeeece, Jeff Davis <pHlow> ____--~~~~~~vvvv~~~~ oooooo 812.831.7846 jjdavis@xnet.com____---- ( ( ( vvvv ~~~~~~ooooooooooooo ___----( ( \ \ \ \ \ vvv oooooooooooooooooooooooooo ____---- ( \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ http://www.xnet.com/~jjdavis/
