Well, maybe this doesnt exactly fall directly under the IDM-label, but its close, and me some friends cant rest until we know. So, here goes. Who did the music for the newest Levis-commercial? We've played with the thought of it being anything from Orbital to Moby, although I doubt its any of those. Not knowing this, drives me nuts..... btw: found a nice CD by Halo called Eclipse w/ 3 LFO remixes the other day, at a bargain (Norwegian standard), and it got me started looking for more LFO remixes of other artists. Good tips, anyone? thx, heikki --------------------------------------------------------------- Heikki Henriksen heikkih@orland.winix.no Rabben 3 heikki@ifi.unit.no 6490 EIDE * DON'T PANIC * henrix@nvg.unit.no NORWAY http://www.nvg.unit.no/~henrix ---------------------------------------------------------------

There aren't too many, and most will be difficult to find. These are the ones I have, sorry I don't have any release details to hand. Radiohead - Planet Telex Hard funk/dub/industrial, like a slower "Tied Up" Botany 5 - Lovebomb 4 similar mixes along the lines of a mellow "LFO" Bridewell Taxis - Spirit Melodic techno version of a guitar pop track J ^ _ _ __ __ __ __ ____ __ __ the ( `'`' / /. \ |. ) |. ) ( ( /_ _| /. ) |. ) \_/\_/ (__\_| |__\ |_| |__) /_| \___| |__\

LFO did what i always thought was a real cool remix of "Aftermath" by Nightmares on Wax. It's an old Warp cd5/12" of the same name. It's definately the best mix on there, and sounds like typical, frequencies LFO. Keep a lookout for it! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ''J''O''H''N'''''''R''I''C''K''M''A''N'''''''''''''''''''''''' jknee@gwis2.circ.gwu.edu

Oh yeah forgot that one. I've got it of course, as part of my complete collection of WARP 12"s. If anyone's got a CD copy of it that they don't want (some hope!) I'm interested! J ^ _ _ __ __ __ __ ____ __ __ the ( `'`' / /. \ |. ) |. ) ( ( /_ _| /. ) |. ) \_/\_/ (__\_| |__\ |_| |__) /_| \___| |__\

As well as the ones James Skilton mentioned, you might also look for the recently released "The Overflow" single by LASSIGUE BENDTHAUS which features a few. olah. christopher miller evil@ddi.digital.net

Actually, I think it's just one Mark Bell remix on this 12". Speaking of which, the original track itself (in two versions) is really cool: midtempo Mu-Ziq-esque funk beats riding beneath delicate melodicism. Works every time.... :) - Matthew "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno." - Jeff Mills

Hm. Is there an actual 12" release for this? I have a white label with the words "OVERFLOW LFO MIX" written with a black sharpie on it... I do know that there is a cd single. But then again, I don't know enough about LFO to know who [Mark Bell] you are referring to anyway. The reason I thought there were LFO remixes is because of what it says on the white label, and from what Uwe Schmidt says in an interview about his LB single:
quoted 9 lines [Uwe] Yes, I was busy, sorry for the delay. I was pretty much occupied> [Uwe] Yes, I was busy, sorry for the delay. Fill me in. ofl. christopher miller evil@ddi.digital.net p.s. The above excerpt is from a much longer interview with Uwe Schmidt, as conducted by Hal Vx2 sometime during the summer of last year for Renegade Spectrum magazine. It is a very informative and lengthy interview, so if you would like to see it in its entirety (rather than posting it to this mailing-list), please e-mail me directly <evil@ddi.digital.net> or Hal Vx2 himself <halvx2@resrocket.com>, and one of us will be more than happy to send it out to you.

Mark Bell is one-half of the duo known as LFO. ;) And yes, the _Overflow_ 12" was released officially with two mixes of the original track by Lassigue Bendthaus (sp?) and one Mark Bell remix. - Matthew "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine.
